JEDIISM: EPISODE I
Year 1, 2014, Media Practice: Video Documentary (module) A documentary that I directed & produced for a University assignment in 2015 which unexpectedly turned out to be a mockumentary. It covers a minority religion in Brighton - Jediism, and why people turn to it or choose minority religions in general. [TRAILER] COMPREHENDING MINORITY RELIGIONS
Year 3, 2016, Creative Project: Video Documentary (module) A trailer for what could potentially be a documentary series regarding minority religions (location may/may not be solely in Brighton). This trailer showcases Paganism and little snippets into their lives and their practices. |

TO HERE FROM HOME
Year 1 (2014), Media Practice: Photography A photography module that required one to take photos of objects/subjects that had links to home, using a DSLR. After-which, combining the photos with soundscapes that had recorded and edited to enhance the slideshow. What I chose: Lights can be found everywhere, but just because two different places have common-ground it doesn’t mean a sense of familiarity will immediately be found. Being young, we all want to live vicariously and I found myself and my friends driving around Singapore in the dead of night, which is how Singapore was and is like in my head; nights when everything was still yet alive at the same time, that’s what made it uniquely Singapore. Singapore is known for being the City of Lights, never a dark spot with most of its lights being artificial for enjoyment and decorative purposes. That was what I was always used to, vibrant lights being spewed across the sky or even the most simple of lights illuminating surrounding areas but still providing a sense of warmth and familiarity. But being in Brighton, there was a stark difference. The lights here did not brighten your day, instead they were used rigidly with the sole purpose of merely providing light and illuminating your path. So for my project, I decided to centre my idea on “lights”. |
